An estimated 1,100 pounds of beef products have been recalled by their manufacturer, Mosul Kubba, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, because of a potential Listeria contamination, according to a recent announcement from the Food Safety and Inspection Services, a division of the United States Department of Agriculture.
Routine test results revealed the potential for Literia contamination in meat that has been packaged for distribution by a Detroit company. Affected products include 2 pound vacuum sealed packages labeled Kubba of Wheat, and 20 pound cases containing 10 2 pound packages of Kubba of Wheat.. A motorcyclist with a revoked license led Washington State Patrol Officers on a high speed chase, on Saturday. The 23 year-old rider from Oregon, was seen speeding on her 2005 Yamaha R6 at around 11:46am, on Interstate 5 near Centralia. A WSP officer tried to pull her over, when the rider took off reaching speeds of 130mph.
Troopers and an air patrol helicopter pursued the motorcyclist while making sure to ensure the safety of other motorists. The motorcyclist exited at Trosper Road in Tumwater. She pulled into a Chevron gas station, thinking she had escaped the troopers. She was arrested at 12:01pm. She was booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of felony eluding and reckless driving.

A San Diego police detective was hurt in a car accident on Wednesday morning, while he was on his way to work. A little after 5am, a car crashed and rolled over on the right lane of Interstate 15, near El Cajon Blvd. Three other cars were involved in the accident, and one caught on fire in the accident.
The fire department arrived, and crews closed three lanes of the southbound 15 and a Sig Alert was issued. The San Diego Police Department Detective was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police believe the accident may have involved a hit and run car. It hasn’t been reported, if any other people involved in this accident, were injured.
This accident is being investigated.

A recent study conducted in Great Britain found that the biggest danger facing motorists might not be texting on a cell phone, but rather logging onto social networking sites such as Facebook.
The Institute of Advanced Motorists and the Transport Research Laboratory used a driving simulator to gauge how certain distractions would affect the reaction times of young drivers. What they found was that reaction times slowed by a dramatic 37.6% when the driver used their phones to connect to social media sites. This is even greater than the 37.4% reduction caused by texting while driving. Talking on a hands free phone came in at 26.5%.
Researchers concluded, obviously enough, that smart phone usage while driving greatly impairs driving ability, perhaps even more so than drunk driving.

A folding pocket utility knife product has been recalled voluntarily by Greenlee Textron Inc., of Rockford, Illinois. The reason for the recall is an increased risk of a laceration hazard due to a failure of the blade mechanism. This failure can cause the blade to improperly fold inward toward the handle. One incident has already been reported to the company, but there was no injury at that time.
Usage of the recalled knife should be stopped immediately and consumers should contact the distributor for a full refund. Between September and November of last year, the items were sold at a various tool distributors across the country for around $20.
The defective models have a 2.6 inch blade and a 4 inch plastic handle colored black or green.

A driver was charged with multiple violations after running from police Thursday morning. He fled police by foot then jumped over a moving vehicle in order to escape arrest. The incident began when police attempted to stop the 24-year-old male for another violation but he jumped out of the moving vehicle and began running.
